What We Thought
The pioneer in the MP3 industry, the Rio, has not made a drastic change on its appearance but on it characteristics; it has updated its features like the rest of its competitors. It has four settings on its equalizer to enhance the listening quality like classic, jazz, rock and normal. Just click on until the sound you desire is found. It also has a track repeat and random play, an intro play and an A-B function that go over an extracted part of the music. You can see a minute and second time count indicator and a battery low power indicator. There is no track name listing on the LCD panel. The sound reproduction given by the ear phones is clear and crisp, the bass reflex is just right. The onboard memory is 32 MB and expandable via flash card, a slot is provided in the underside of the unit and is locked in place so are all the controls so it will not be pressed by accident. It is powered by a single AA battery and can be linked to a personal computer via the parallel port. A song is transferred quite fast, around 10 seconds each. Ripper software called Music Match Jukebox is added to rip songs from CD. It even lets you play from CD but a little tricky at first. The unit is updated to the time with a very good sound quality and the software is working well even if it takes time to getting used to. It is still one of the best to contend with.
