What We Thought
Having a port from Playstation makes the application look a bit crude and uninteresting. Its interface is simplistic and with very simple functionality. But it works well with the drag and drop functionality of the applications in this class. Its database has about ninety-nine sample tracks and may be severely limiting. But the variety of genres stacked in the database is commendable. It has standards, pops, orchestral, and the has the usual techno, house, trance and bass samples which is mainly why the application was even conceived. Like its over all look, the samples are pretty basic. A sound editor is also included in the package so one can alter and modify the existing samples or one can even create from scratch. On though must have an ear for these things and the controls are not particularly easy to navigate. Some features, which are quite surprising, include a video editing suite allowing for one to make visual effects for the sample tune. It is merely a mixture of pulsing colours and shapes with flashing lights. There is a jamming mode function, allowing for a multi player session on the internet which would need quite a bit of musical talent to pull off. Priced at £ 34.99 VAT inclusive, the application serves its purpose but needing reasonable effort to make it work.
